Finance Ministry of Belarus works hard on placing bonds in Russia

The Finance Ministry of Belarus has been actively working on placing its bonds in the financial market of Russia. The bonds will be denominated in the Russian rubles. In particular, the Finance Ministry of Belarus has been holding talks with Russia’s Federal Service for Securities of and the Finance Ministry on the issue, Senior Vice-President of VTB Bank Denis Ursulyak has told BelTA.

According to Denis Ursulyak, Belarus intends to place bonds worth of RUR 10 billion in the Russian financial market.

“This will be a novelty, as none of the sovereign borrowers has ever placed its bonds in the Russian market,” the Senior Vice-President of VTB Bank said.
