The first congress of the Belarusian scientists will take place in Minsk in November. A decision is contained in Resolution #1088 by the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus. The congress organizational committee is headed by the Deputy Prime Minister, Alexander Kosinets. The committee is to develop the schedule of the congress, design the regulations and principles of selection of the participants and to establish the cooperation between the interested government bodies and the organisations in charge of the preparation of the congress. The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the State Science and Technology Committee are expected to work out a plan of action aimed at preparing the First Congress of Scientists of Belarus by September 5.
