Preparation for the constitutional referendum remains a near-term priority, Chairman of the House of Representatives Vladimir Andreichenko said at a meeting of the sixth session of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus of the seventh convocation, BelTA has learned.

"The working group, which includes the MPs, presented the revised draft of the new Constitution to the head of state last week. In the very near future, the document will be submitted to the Constitutional Commission for consideration. This places particular responsibility on the MPs - members of the Constitutional Commission in terms of qualitative revision of the text of the draft," Vladimir Andreichenko said.

He urged all MPs to get actively involved in this process, because the public discussion of the Constitution is not far off and the deputy corps has a very serious role to play in its arrangement.
