If a country can't provide itself with food, it can hardly be considered sovereign and independent. This is why Belarus has paid increased attention to the development of agriculture, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he met with Russia's Perm Territory Governor Dmitry Makhonin in Minsk on 28 July, BelTA has learned.

Today Belarus is more successful than any other post-Soviet state, military expert and political analyst Yakov Kedmi told the V Teme [On Point] online project on BelTA's YouTube channel.

There are no disagreements between the presidents of Belarus and Russia regarding the joint work on import substitution amidst the sanctions, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he met with Perm Territory Governor Dmitry Makhonin, BelTA has learned.
