Vitebsk plant of metering equipment to invest about Br1 bln in technical reconstruction in 2007

In 2007, the republican unitary company Vitebsk plant of metering equipment will invest about Br1 billion in technical reconstruction, director of the plant Anatoliy Lyadvin told BelTA.

According to him, the plant will purchase a surface mounting automatic machine, a thermoplastic-automatic machine, automated installations to inspect electric meters and other technological equipment. Moreover, the technical reconstruction is aimed at reducing the power-consuming of the production.

In January-March this year, the Vitebsk plant of metering equipment sold Br8.3 billion worth of products, or 40% up as against of the same period last year. In Q1 2007, the output grew by 12%, the profitability – by 14%. The Vitebsk plant exports 40% of its products. The major part of the goods is exported to Russia. About 30% of the products are designed for the motor-tractor branch (25% - meters, the rest of the goods – metering equipment and consumer goods).

The plant was founded in 1948. It employs 1670 professionals.
