Vitebsk Plant of Electric Measuring Instruments named a best CIS producer

Vitebsk Plant of Electric Measuring Instruments has been awarded a Quality Producer title and a Commonwealth Star award in the nomination Best CIS Company at an international summit in Moscow, the company’s director Anatoliy Lyadvin told BelTA.

In his words, applicants for the award are judged by several criteria. Product quality and sales on the CIS market are the most important ones.

Products made by Vitebsk Plant of Electric Measuring Instruments are certified for compliance with quality standard ISO 9000. Several years ago the company passed a re-certification. “Today our buyers are major companies in Russia and Ukraine. We have irregular customers in Kazakhstan. On the whole, the company exports 40% of the make, with a significant share of it going to the Russian Federation”, noted Anatoliy Lyadvin.

The prestigious award will definitely help build up the company’s position on the CIS market and raise sales.

In January-March 2007 Vitebsk Plant of Electric Measuring Instruments exported Br8.3 billion worth of commodities, 40% more than in the same period of the previous year. In Q1 2007 the output swelled by 12%, return on sales — 14%. Around 30% of the make is meant for automobiles and tractors. Meters account for 25% of the total make, the rest is measuring instruments and consumer goods.

Vitebsk Plant of Electric Measuring Instruments was founded in 1948. It employs 1,670 people.
