Vitebsk oblast to host musical festival with Belarusian diasporas from Baltic states, Ukraine, Poland

Song ensembles representing public organisations of Belarusians, who live in the Baltic states, Ukraine and Poland, will take part in the XIV international song and dance festival “Dnepr Voices in Dubrovno” in the town of Dubrovno, Vitebsk oblast, on June 23-24.

BelTA learnt from representatives of the Office of the High Commissioner for Religions and Nationalities, the main purpose of the project is to get compatriots to actively cooperate with Belarus, to get Belarusian diasporas involved in public and cultural life of the home country. Besides, the organisers believe that leaving the festival with good impressions about Belarus, fellow Belarusians will propagandise achievements of the country.

Music ensembles of Belarusian diasporas have been officially invited to partake in the festival for three years. According to a preliminary agreement, participants are expected to present a couple of songs during the presentation of an ensemble, another couple during the gala concert and a one-hour performance in concert halls of the town and the district. There are songs performed in languages of the country of residence on the repertoire of the ensembles.
