Three regions of Vitebsk oblast sign cooperation agreements with three municipal councils of Moscow NAD

The Verkhnedvinsk, Lepel and Tolochin regional executive committees have signed today agreements on trade-economic, sci-tech and humanitarian-cultural cooperation with three municipal councils of the Northern Administrative District of Moscow /NAD/.

When meeting with a NAD delegation chairman of the Vitebsk oblast executive committee Vladimir Andreichenko noted that the number of regions and towns of the oblast closely cooperating with Moscow was increasing. Not long ago the Orsha and Polotsk town councils, the Liozno regional executive committees signed analogous agreements with other NAD municipal councils. “Such agreements help not only promote trade-economic cooperation but also establish contacts between cultural, educational, veteran’s and youth organizations,” Vladimir Andreichenko underlined.

He has informed that the Russian goods are widely presented in the oblast market. Removal of the artificial barriers for the trade in Belarusian goods will help Vitebsk companies boost the export to Moscow. For the three months of the current year the volume of Grodno oblast’s supplies of dairy products to Moscow considerably increased: condensed milk – 4,8 times, cheese and curd cheese – by 41%, milk and cream – by 39%. Grodno oblast has been increasing supplies of light industry goods as well – footwear, knitted wear, legwear garments, outer clothing. Construction materials made in the oblast are very popular in the market as well. For the four months of the current year the trade turnover between Vitebsk oblast and Moscow totaled $90 million; the Belarusian export exceeded $55 million – almost 15% more as against the same period of 2006.
