Some 37 Belarusian companies awarded diplomas of contest-tasting “GUST”

More than 50 companies of food industry, which represented all the regions of the country, took part in the contest-tasting “GUST” for the best product of 2007. The contest was held within the framework of the international specialized exhibition “Food Industry” on June 3-7, BelTA learnt in the press-service of the State Committee for Standardization and Certification. 
Some 37 companies of the country were awarded diplomas of the contest. The jury panel, which included leading specialists of the Ministry of Agriculture and Foodstuffs, the Health Ministry, the Trade Ministry, the State Standard, research institutes and scientific-practical centers, selected the best products of the meat and dairy branch and also soft drinks and mineral water.

 Bereza Meat-Packing Plant, OOO Tarasovo, Pinsk Meat-Packing Plant and Borisov Meat-Packing Plant were awarded diplomas in the nomination for the best original meat product.

The best butter was recognized the butter produced by OAO Moloko (Vitebsk), OAO Savushkin Product and Minsk Dairy Plant #3. Their products do not contain vegetable supplements.

Kobrin Butter and Cheese-Making Plant, Postavy Dairy Plant and Osipovichi Dairy Plant were awarded diplomas in the nomination for the best cheese.

The jury panel assessed cottage deserts as well. Polotsk Dairy Plant, Minsk Dairy Plant #3, Vileika Dairy Plant and Volkovysk-based BELLACT received diplomas in that nomination.

The jury determined the best soft drinks and mineral water. Unitary company Technoprod, Rogachev Plant of Soft Drinks, Cherven Vegetable Plant, unitary company Bakaleya, OAO Lidskoe Pivo and Nesvizh Plant of Soft Drinks (a branch of OAO Krynitsa) became the best producers in that nomination. 

According to the press-service of the State Committee for Standardization and Certification, the contest was held by the Belarusian State Institute of Standardization and Certification under the auspices of the Ministry of Agriculture and Foodstuffs and ZAO Minskexpo to promote competitiveness of the food industry, to advance it to the domestic and foreign markets, to introduce up-to-date packing technologies.

The winners of the contest will be granted the right to use the emblem of the contest on their packing and also in advertising campaigns.
