In January-April Lukoml state district power plant increases electricity production by 18.4%

According to the specialists, this year the Lukoml state district plant has been more actively utilizing its production facilitates. For example, for the four months the average load of the generating units made 219 MW-h (in January-April 2006 – 208,7 MW-h). In May this year the index makes MW-h 230.

In summer the plant will generate about 60% of the electric power produced in Belarus.

Due to the upgrade the plant has managed to enhance its economical efficiency. In January-April 2007 fuel consumption for electricity production made 309,5 grams per 1 kW-h (in January-April 2006 – 315,8 grams). Within this period the plant saved 7,175 tons of toe.

This year the technical upgrade of the Lukoml state district plant will be continued. In 2007, power generating unit #2 will be modernized. The capacity of the unit will be increased by 15MW-h.

The Russian company “Power machines” will supply the equipment for the upgrade. The total sum of the contract for the supply of the equipment for power generating units #1, #2 and #4 makes about $24 million.

As BelTA informed earlier, the total capacity of the Lukoml state district plant is more than 2,4 thousand MW-h. The first power generating unit was sent into operation in 1969; the eighth – in 1974.
