Chinese ambassador thanked for support of Belarus’ SCO membership
It was a great honor for Belarus to become the tenth full member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Belarusian First Deputy Prime Minister Nikolai Snopkov said as he met with outgoing Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Belarus Xie Xiaoyong on 4 September, BelTA has learned.
“I am grateful for your personal support in making our country a full member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. It was a great honor and joy for us to become the tenth full member of this organization,” Nikolai Snopkov said.
The first deputy prime minister assured that Belarus would do its best to promote the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in the international arena and contribute to its development in all dimensions. This pertains to interregional cooperation, building the principles of the community of common destiny, as well as financial, economic and trade sectors.
“It should be noted that in 2019 you made part of the SCO observation mission at the parliamentary elections in Belarus. Thanks to you and your position, we get positive results. Once again I express profound gratitude to you,” Nikolai Snopkov added.
