Builders in start roofing work in Vitebsk Summer Amphitheatre

Today, builders in the Vitebsk Summer Amphitheatre have started the roofing work above the auditorium, Viktor Petrusha, a Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee, told BelTA.

The builders use rectangular slates of varying length but of uniform width which is 60cm. The roof covering can change its colour from milk-white to beige-golden depending on light. It has been manufactured in Switzerland under a special order from polycarbonate. The slates will cover 7.5 thousand square meters of roof. The work is expected to be finished in late May. The completion of the roofing work will mean that some 90% of work aimed at refreshment of the main stage of the International Arts Festival Slavonic Bazaar in Vitebsk will be finished. At the final stage of the work, sound and light equipment will be installed.

Simultaneously with the roofing work, specialists are assembling seats in the auditorium and beautify the area surrounding the Amphitheatre. Some Br21 billion has been utilised for the refreshment of the complex so far. The work runs according to the schedule and will be finished by June 15.
