BelTA becomes partner of TV BRICS international network

The Belarusian news agency BelTA is the first Belarusian media outlet to join the TV BRICS network. The agreement on joint activities was signed by Irina Akulovich, Director General of the Belarusian news agency BelTA, and Zhanna Tolstikova, Director General of TV BRICS International Media Network.

The partners will cooperate in content exchange. By joining TV BRICS, Belarus will have access to primary media sources of up-to-date information about the developments in BRICS countries and will be able to promote its own agenda more actively on foreign media platforms.

Belarus became the 23rd country to join the TV BRICS network, which will strengthen information interaction between BRICS and the Eurasian Economic Union. Earlier, the media network established partnership relations with a number of news outlets in Armenia, Kazakhstan, and Russia.

The TV BRICS international network was created in 2017. TV BRICS is the newest system of regular information exchange between the media of the BRICS+ countries. Media partners interact through the TV BRICS multilingual portal and the 24-hour TV channel of the same name. TV BRICS is headquartered in Moscow, Russia. More than 70 media outlets from many countries have already joined the TV BRICS network: Russia, Brazil, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Iran, UAE, as well as Argentina, Armenia, Venezuela, Zimbabwe, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Cuba, Mozambique, Tunisia, and Chile. The total technical coverage of the TV BRICS partner network exceeds 1.5 billion users.

Founded in 1918, BelTA is the largest news agency in Belarus and the main source of official information in the country. Every day BelTA publishes about 250 news items and over 120 photos and videos to highlight the most important events in the political, social, economic, cultural, and sport life of Belarus. The news is available in seven languages: Belarusian, Russian, English, Spanish, Chinese, Polish, and German. BelTA has offices and staff reporters in all the oblast capitals of Belarus and in Moscow. It cooperates with 30 foreign news agencies and publications.

BelTA news about the most important events in Belarus is transmitted online through the channels of the CIS Association of National News Agencies.

BelTA runs belarus.by, the official website of the Republic of Belarus, which is available in four languages and is one of the leading sources of information about the country in the world search engines. BelTA publishes the newspaper 7 Dnei, the Belaruskaya Dumka and Economy of Belarus magazines.
