Belarus, Russia gear up to launch mutual visa recognition agreement
Work to enforce the agreement between Belarus and Russia on the mutual recognition of visas is on the home stretch, Belarusian Deputy Sport and Tourism Minister Oleg Andreichik told the media ahead of the second meeting of the working group on tourism in the Union State, BelTA learned.
Belarus and Russia have already ratified the agreement on mutual recognition of visas. Now the agencies and departments concerned are working through technical issues. "The process of enforcing the agreement on the mutual recognition of visas on the territory of the two states is on the home stretch. I hope that with the entry into force of this document, the international traffic will intensify. Arriving in the Russian Federation, foreign visitors with an entry visa will be able to travel to Belarus. Accordingly, tourists who come to Belarus will be able to see the excellent tourism potential of Russia," Oleg Andreichik said.
Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Dmitry Vakhrukov noted that interregional routes have been developed within the framework of the Union State. Their number will increase.
The meeting of the working group brought together representatives of the Sport and Tourism Ministry of Belarus, the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, the tourism business, transport departments, regions of the two countries, etc. The first meeting of the working group was held on the sidelines of the Rossiya international exhibition and forum in Moscow on 3 April 2024 .
