Vitebsk to host first fair “Tourism 2008” May 23-25

More than 50 companies and organizations will take part in the first Vitebsk oblast-wide fair “Tourism 2008”, which is scheduled to take place in Vitebsk on May 23-25. The exhibition will gather tour operators, sanatoria and resort establishments and museums, hotels as well as representatives of the town councils and regional executive committees of the Vitebsk oblast, director of the Vitebsk branch of the National Tourism Agency Yelena Safonova told BelTA. Representatives of all tourist companies in Belarus are expected to attend the event. The visitors will get information about tourist routes and take part in the drawing of prize. The winner will get a hotel voucher for two persons in one of the beautiful places of the region. The organizers have planned a roundtable session for specialists “Prospects of development of the inbound and regional tourism in the Vitebsk oblast”, as well as a training seminar in the Repin museum, which is the subdivision of the Vitebsk oblast museum of lore and history. Within the framework of the fair the National Tourism Agency will represent a brochure “Health tourism in the Vitebsk oblast”. According to Yelena Safonova, the fair aims to provide the tourist services of local tourist companies, to upgrade professional skills of tourism specialists and to establish new business links between tour operators and their business partners and customers. The fair “Tourism 2008” is organized by the department of the physical culture, sport and tourism of the Vitebsk oblast executive committee and the Vitebsk branch of the National Tourism Agency.
