Underperforming private companies in Vitebsk oblast may be closed down
At a session of the Vitebsk oblast executive committee on April 24, its chairman Vladimir Andreichenko urged the local authorities to look into the state of affairs of the weak private companies.
According to the economy committee, 43 private companies in the oblast reported losses in January-February. Among them are three companies selling oil products, several big trading companies. The losses ranged between Br2 million to Br3 million. According to Vladimir Andreichenko, this shows that “entrepreneurs evade taxes”. Tough measures right to closing down should be applied to such producers,” Vladimir Andreichenko said.
A total of 248 organisations reported losses over the two months, or 18% of the total. The sum of losses made up Br22.5 billion.
