Japanese businessmen to visit Vitebsk oblast in 2009

During the visit of a Belarusian delegation to Japan on June 22-30, the Vitebsk branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) and the Japanese side reached an agreement to organize a visit of Japanese businessmen to the Vitebsk oblast, BelTA learnt from director general of the Vitebsk branch of the BCCI Valery Budkevich. “During the talks with our Japanese partners we have agreed to arrange a business visit of a Japanese delegation to the Vitebsk oblast presumably in 2009,” Valery Budkevich said. The programme of this visit will include a familiarization trip across the region, the presentation of investment projects and discussion of the opportunities of setting up joint ventures with the participation of Japanese capital. During their visit to Japan, the heads of 10 Belarusian enterprises attended the Design Engineering and Manufacturing Solutions Expo (DMS-2008). “It is the biggest exhibition in Japan specializing in high technology solutions for all branches of economy,” Valery Budkevich underlined. The Belarusian top managers got an opportunity to get familiar with the application of cutting-edge technologies in the production, processing and design, to study novelties in the area of information technologies. Apart from that, the members of the delegation took part in the contact and cooperation exchange organized by the Belarusian-Japanese Association for Trade and Industry Development. The sides discussed the perspectives and potential of bilateral cooperation with the manufacturers of the Vitebsk oblast and Japan. “As a result of the business-meeting, the Vitebsk branch of the BCCI joined the association composed of about 50 big and medium-sized Japanese companies,” he noted. The visit of the Belarusian delegation was held under the auspices of the Belarusian Embassy in Japan.
