Countrywide energy-saving experiment starts in Belarus
The countrywide experiment on reducing household energy consumption started in Vitebsk.
In line with Directive #3 Belarus has been implementing the measures to promote effective use of energy resources, including by household customers, BelTA learned from deputy chief of the state power engineering association Belenergo Sergei Sherebko.
On instruction of the government of Belarus, Belenergo in partnership with Kosmos, the Russian energy-saving lamps’ producer, and Belrosprom, the supplier of lighting facilities, has started the experiment on reducing household energy consumption by substituting glow-lamps for energy-saving lamps. One five-storied house in Vitebsk was equipped with such innovative bulbs. Now the house dwellers have a real opportunity to reduce their energy consumption and cut the bills.
Experts say that new lamps can reduce energy consumption by 20-30 kWh per one apartment, Sergei Sherebko said. The real energy-saving results can be expected in a month, he noted.
All oblast centres countrywide will join the experiment. As in Vitebsk, the will choose multiple-dwellings to run the experiment.
