Br90bn earmarked for investment projects in small towns of Vitebsk Oblast
VITEBSK, 12 August (BelTA) – About Br90 billion has been allocated to implement the most important investment projects in the small towns of Vitebsk Oblast since the launch of the state complex program of the development of regions, small and medium towns for 2007-2010, BelTA learnt from the economy committee of the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee.
Seven major investment projects have been delivered in the small towns of the oblast since 2007. A woodworking facility was upgraded at the Orsha construction materials factory. Over Br8 billion was invested in the renovation of the whole milk shop floor at the Postavy dairy; as a result the capacities of the dairy increased by 45% up to 17,500 tonnes of products per year. Apart from that, the enterprise got an opportunity to significantly expand the offering. A tunnel kiln was repurposed to produce clinker brick at the Obol pottery.
Other projects include setting up the production of component parts at the Lyos company, fittings at Beltrubplast, garments in Baran and construction of a gas station in Shumilino.
At present, the oblast is implementing another three major investment projects. These are technical upgrade at the Glubokoye milk cannery, setting up dolomite production at the Dolomite company and production of cotton and linen products at Mig-Resurs in the town of Vetrino, Polotsk District. The projects are to be delivered by the end of 2010.
