Taking part in the concert will be the Belarusian singers who performed at Eurovision Song Contest and also those who may represent Belarus in the future. Moreover, the singers from various countries who took part in the Eurovision contest will attend the Belarusian festival as well. “We will have an opportunity to analyze the performances of the singers from other countries and to evaluate the talents of Belarusian as to their ability to represent Belarus at Eurovision 2008”, Alexander Tikhanovich noted.
According to the famous singer, there are a lot of signers who can fittingly represent Belarus at international forums. It is prestigious for every singer to take part in the Slavonic Bazaar in Vitebsk. Many artists performed in Vitebsk first and afterwards try to win over the European audience. That was the case with Olivia Lewis from Malta and Natalia Barbu from Moldova who took part in Eurovision 2007. Before it they attended the Vitebsk festival.
The festival in Vitebsk has strong traditions; it is a professional and responsible contest. As a member of the jury panel, Alexander Tikhanovich advised young singers to be very serious about the participation in the festival. It is not only all about signing. Important are the staging, the way the singer feels and acts when on stage. According to Alexander Tikhanovich, Belarusian participants of the international pop-song contest “Vitebsk 2007”, Georgiy Koldun and Anika, are talented singers and have good prospects of winning the contest.
