Main goals of SCC DFI is to control utilization of budget funds and to combat corruption

The main goals of the Department of Financial Investigations /DFI/ of the State Control Committee of Belarus /SCC/ is to control utilization of the budget funds and to fight against corruption, SCC deputy director – DFI chief Sergei Baranovsky has said today during the hotline set up for residents of Vitebsk oblast.

The DFI has been closely cooperating with the law enforcement agencies of Belarus in order to fulfill the task set by the Belarusian leader – to ensure economic security of Belarus, Sergei Baranovsky said. Direct contacts with the Belarusians, hotlines and meetings help the SCC take immediate measures to react upon law violations.

After the hotline Sergei Baranovsky commissioned the local SCC department to examine two facts concerning abuse of power and financial fraud. Sergei Baranovsky also drew attention of the local bodies of authority to the necessity to observe the legislation on protection of the rights of the elderly, disabled people and low-income groups of citizens.

According to the SCC deputy director, the State Control Committee will continue setting up such hotlines to establish direct contacts with the Belarusian citizens.
