OSCE activities in early warning, conflict prevention and resolution, crisis management and post-conflict rehabilitation will be discussed at the Annual Security Review Conference (ASRC) which will be held in Vienna on June 19-20 with the participation of a Belarusian delegation.
As BelTA learnt in the Foreign Ministry, the conference will include three main working sessions. During the sessions, participants of the conference will review the implementation of the OSCE Strategy to Address Threats to Security and Stability in the Twenty-First Century, challenges in the politico-military aspects of security dimension. The participants of the conference are set to discuss the issues related to reformation of the OSCE, development of a new generation of measures to strengthen confidence and security, other issues
The Annual Security Review Conference (ASRC) was established by Decision No. 3 of the 10th OSCE Ministerial Council, which was held in Porto on 6 and 7 December 2002. The aims of the ASRC are: to provide a framework for enhancing security dialogue and for reviewing security work undertaken by the OSCE and participating States; to provide an opportunity to exchange views on issues related to arms control and confidence and security building; and to promote the exchange of information and co-operation with relevant international and regional organizations and institutions.
