Belarus interested in cooperation with CIS states for developing nuclear power engineering

Belarus is interested in cooperating with the CIS states for developing nuclear power engineering, President of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich said at today’s session of the CIS Commission for Peaceful Uses of Atomic Energy.

He noted, Belarus has experience of research in this field. Yet the country cannot create nuclear power engineering of its own all alone. “We are interested in productive international cooperation in the field, in particular, cooperation with the CIS states,” said Mikhail Myasnikovich.

The official noted, Belarus pays much attention both to research and practical approaches to using energy in the national economy. Meanwhile, the significance of nuclear power engineering should increase. Directive No. 3 pays special attention to this issue, noted Mikhail Myasnikovich.
