Belarus’ budget surplus approximates Br 1.6 trillion in January-May

Belarus’ budget surplus approximated Br 1.6 trillion in January-May 2007, BelTA learnt in the Ministry of Finances. The surplus is attributable to the advance yield income of the target budget funds and the social security fund.

In the five months the budget revenues totaled Br13.6 trillion or 43.6% of the revised annual target.

Over the period under review, about Br760 billion worth of income tax was paid or 35.7% of the revised annual target as well as about Br2.3 trillion VAT or 39.1% of the revised annual target. Revenues from foreign trade exceeded Br2.1 trillion or 73.8% of the annual target.

As of June 1, 2007 budget arrears were at the level of Br234.8 billion.

Budget expenses stood at Br12 trillion or 36.7% of the target.
